社会医学是现代医学和社会学的重要组成部分，其任务是研究健康决定因素，即以社会因素为主的各种因素对人类健康产生的影响及规律性，促进健康管理，改善社会卫生条件、研究消除和防止不良社会因素对健康干扰的措施、提高生命质量，是实践性学科，是医学与社会之间的“桥梁”。
Social medicine is an important component of both modern medicine and sociology. It studies the influence of social factors on health, and provides strategies for disease prevention and control, improvement of people’s quality of life. The main contents covered in this course are: concept, characteristics of social medicine, Social determinants of Health, health related factors, strategies and application principles of disease prevention and health management,clinical economic evaluation and clinical decision-making, global health care strategies and the health care reform in China. Course objectives: the students will develop a sense of Prevention First through an increasing understanding of health related factors in the context of social and economic development, grasp the knowledge and techniques in social medicine, and make good use of them in further work.
